2013 Peugeot 208 GTi pricing

Peugeot has announced pricing for 2013 Peugeot 208 GTI. which goes on sale across the UK in March priced from 18,895 GBP.

Peugeot finally revealed the 208 GTi � the car they hope will add the same sort of gloss to the new 208 range as the 205 GTi did back in the day � at the Paris Motor Show in September last year, and with order books soon to be open they�ve now given the 208 GTi a price.

The Peugeot 208 GTI will get standard items such as the parking sensors, the digital radio, the LED lights and the 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside it gets leather & cloth upholstery, aluminum pedals and gear knob, sport seats, rear parking sensors and DAB radio.

The model gets a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine with 200bhp and 288NM of torque, which is 20bhp more than the Ford but 15Nm of torque less than the Fiesta produces on overboost. The 208 GTi will reach 62mph in 6.8 seconds and CO2 output is 139g/km.

Subaru BRZ RA Racing announced in Japan

Subaru has unveil the BRZ RA Racing for the Japanese market. The BRZ RA Racing is caged, has a race harness for the driver, and features dedicated brake ducts, an oil cooler, tow hooks, and simple 16-inch steelies.

Power is provided by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine which likely produces 200 HP (147 kW) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission.

Inside the car is a newly added six-point roll cage with custom floor mats and a FIA-spec four-point racing harness. Air conditioning is standard but the radio has been removed to cut some weight.

Pricing has been announced at 2,868,000 yen in Japan, which translates to about $31,500. There is no word yet on whether a tuned up version of the BRZ will make it to North America.

BMW M5 by Hartge

Hartge has released their tuning program for BMW M5 F10.

The exterior gets a new front lip spoiler, carbon fiber mirror housings and different sets of 21� HARTGE wheels. There is also a set of lowering springs reducing the ride height by 25mm at the front and 20mm at the rear. HARTGE also offers a complete stainless steel sports exhaust system.

The Hartge M5 uses a set of lowering springs that bring the car closer to the road by 25 mm up front and 20 mm at the back.
Interior changes are limited, but customers can order aluminum pedals, velour floor mats and Hartge badging.

The most important upgrade is definitely under the hood where the 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 engine can now produce a total output of 642 HP (472 kW) and 810 Nm of torque (597 lb-ft), 80 HP (60 kW) and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft) more than the standard version. This is translated into a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph).

Carlsson SLK 340 Race Car

Carlsson will unveil the SLK 340 Race Car at the Geneva Motor Show, the new race car will be used in national and international hill climb races in the E1 category, starting 2013 racing season. The SLK 340 comes with many modifications, which is understandable considering that the car was built from scratch on a body shell.

The engine is a 3.4 liter V8 with 610HP (449 kW) and 430Nm (319 lb-ft) of torque. The engine weighs just 120kg. The gearbox is a Hewland with a paddle shift.

For the interior, the tuner installed a pair of racing seats from Fibreworks and a complex safety cage.

Other features on this 780 kg machine include a complex safety cage, a Fibreworks racing seat, lightweight braking system, 3-way adjustable KW competition suspension and a set of BBS racing wheels, measuring 10 and 13 x 18-inches and wrapped in sticky Avon rubber.

World premiere in Geneva: Carlsson presents race car based on SLK

The Carlsson SLK 340 celebrates its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. This is an absolutely unique race car developed using advanced construction techniques. Entries are planned at national and international hill climb races in the E1 category. Project manager Reto Meisel (42), project manager Martin Burmeister and their Swiss team Meisel Motorsport want to continue the sporting successes of the 190 EVO with this powerhouse and blow away the international competition.

The newcomer in international motorsport captivates with an abundance of modifications. The engineers have subjected the car, which was built from scratch on a body shell, to a comprehensive weight-loss regime. At the same time, it also received a power boost. Thanks to the use of the most modern materials, the Carlsson SLK 340 JUDD weighs in at only 780 kg on the scale. To accomplish this, an ultra lightweight body kit made of carbon was used. The aerodynamic components have been tested extensively, even in a wind tunnel, to connect a spectacular look with a perfect downforce. A closed underbody will further optimize the air resistance of the hill climb race car. Despite extensive changes, the SLK in its racing suit with its powerful rear wing looks extremely stylish. "We developed the design over a long period of time and with lots of feeling. We are proud of the awesome look. As an engineer, it is a pleasure to contribute to such a project, and we can show everything that is technically possible in the vehicle in cooperation with Carlsson", says Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Markus Schuster, Managing Director of Carlsson Germany.

The heart of the racer is the 3.4-liter V8 engine. The engine develops a fabulous 610 hp. It has a maximum torque of 430 Newton meters, while weighing in at no more than 120 kilograms. The racing team relies on a Hewland transmission with a paddle shift.

A 3-way adjustable KW competition suspension ensures optimum road holding for the race car on BBS racing wheels (10x18 front, 13x18 rear) and AVON tires. The brake system of ultralight materials saves additional weight. Maximum support and maximum safety are guaranteed by newly developed racing seats from Fibreworks.

Safety first! In accordance with the regulations, a complex safety cage has been installed which meets all relevant international requirements. A total of 1800 hours of development work has been invested up to the premiere. In this respect it is no wonder that the designers speak proudly of a true masterpiece. Carlsson racing seats ensure optimum lateral support.

Reto Meisel, team leader and driver, has been active in motorsports since 1989: "I'm really looking forward to the challenge of accompanying and coordinating a race car, which started out as a vision on a piece of white paper, right from the beginning. There has never been a race touring car with such extreme performance and technical features."

The list of sporting achievements of the experienced Swiss driver is considerably long. The racer dominated, among others, the German Mountain Championship from 1999 to 2001. He triumphed at the 2002 Swiss Mountain Coupe, and in 2007 and 2009 he became German Touring Car Hill Climb Champion. "Another goal is to participate with the Carlsson SLK 340 at the legendary Pikes Peak race in Colorado, USA. "It will be an honor for us to compete internationally with the factory teams of Hyundai and Suzuki," continued Reto Meisel.

Kia Teases New Concept for Geneva Motor Show

Kia has released new images for the new urban concept, which will debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

According to the car manufacturer, the new Kia vehicle will be a �racy new urban concept� which will preview a final production version scheduled to make its way onto the market in the nearby future.

Kia has not provided a single detail about its upcoming concept, but rumors circulating around the European media indicate that it might preview a production-bound Juke-fighting crossover. If that is the case, the vehicle's ground clearance will be noticeably augmented in its transition from a concept to a production car.

In addition to this new compact sporty concept, Kia has already confirmed that the hot three-door pro_cee�d GT and the five-door cee�d GT will debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Audi S6 by SKN

SKN has released a new performance package for the Audi S6. First, the stage one package features an optimized ECU which enables the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine to generate 543 HP � 399 kW and 687 Nm (507 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the model to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 4.6 seconds and reach a top speed of over 309 km/h (192 mph).

Exterior-wise, the Audi has been restyled by a decent bit, now featuring a redesigned front fascia and a rear sports diffuser. Upon request, SKN will also be able to fit the Audi with a suspension lowering module, which reduces the ride height of the car by up to 40 mm, alongside a new set of wheels measuring 20 or 21 inches in diameter.

Powered by the V8 twin-turbo engine with only reprogramming ECU and now able to produces 543 horsepower and 687 Nm of torque, giving the car ability to accelerates 0-100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 309 km/h.

The most powerful package is the Stage 3, allowing the engine to deliver a respectable 560 HP (412 kW) and 701 Nm (517 lb-ft) of torque. It permits an acceleration from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) 0.1 seconds faster, in 4.5 seconds, while the top speed reaches 311 km/h (193 mph).

Pricing for the conversions are �2,990, �3,449 and �3,990 respectively.

Chrysler has unveiled its new 300 Glacier edition. The 300 Glacier has been priced at $37,840 (including destination), and the automaker has released new photos of the full-size four-door. The modified 300 adds unique exterior styling and Chrysler�s all-wheel-drive system to make it appropriate for a trip to the slopes or a night on the town.

Based on the 300S, the Glacier is distinguished by gloss black mirrors, black chrome accents and unique 19-inch aluminum wheels. Customers can also order a gloss black roof and an exclusive Glacier Blue Pearl exterior.

The 300 Glacier comes with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine with new sport-tuned exhaust and cold-air induction system delivering 300 horsepower. Hooked up to an eight-speed automatic transmission and of course that AWD system, it returns 18 mpg city / 27 mpg highway. You can also have it with the 363 horsepower HEMI V8.

2014 Acura RLX Pricing

Acura has announced the pricing and details for the all-new 2014 Acura RLX . Replacing the outgoing RL model, the 2014 Acura RLX will go on sale on March 15th, 2013 with a starting manufacturer�s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $48,450.

There will be five different trim levels for the RLX, ranging from $48,450 all the way up to $60,450 for the RLX with the advance package. The trim levels are priced as follows: RLX starts at $48,450, RLX with navigation at $50,950, RLX with technology package priced at $54,450, RLX with Krell audio package at $56,950 and RLX with advance package topping the range at $60,450.

The RLX improves on the outgoing Acura RL with more interior room from a similar outside package and a significantly redesigned inside, outside and chassis. The RLX competes against luxury sedans like the BMW 535i, Lexus GS 350 and Audi A6.

In the interiors, the RLX features premium, soft touch materials with the tasteful application of premium metal and wood-grain accents. The vehicle features a stitched leather instrument panel, center console and steering wheel, along with available Milano perforated leather seats, communicate a new level of craftsmanship and refined luxury appeal in Acura�s top-of-the-line sedan.

All RLX models have 4-wheel disc brakes with high-friction pads and a 4-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS), along with new Hydraulic Brake Boost that improves brake pedal feel. New Electric Parking Brake with Automatic Brake Hold, and high-efficiency Vehicle Stability Assist� (VSA�) are additional firsts for Acura.

New Direct-Injected i-VTEC� V-6 with VCM

The 2014 RLX is powered by an all-new, 3.5-liter, direct-injected SOHC i-VTEC� V-6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management�. Rated at 310 horsepower, the engine delivers exceptional drivability, with more than 90-percent of its peak 272 lb.-ft. of torque available from 2000 rpm to 6600 rpm. Variable Cylinder Management with 3-cylinder and 6-cylinder operation works in concert with the VTEC valvetrain to deliver superb cruising efficiency. The engine is mounted to a lightweight and rigid aluminum front subframe using a vibration-canceling Active Control engine Mount (ACM) system.

The new engine is mated to a reengineered Sequential SportShift 6-speed automatic transmission with revised gearing, an intuitive selector and steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles. A driver-selectable Sport mode provides more aggressive shift points and more pronounced engine braking during deceleration, along with manual operation.

AcuraLink� Connectivity System

The RLX is equipped with the next-generation AcuraLink� cloud-based connected car system, delivering a comprehensive array of media, convenience, and security services via embedded two-way communications and web-enabled devices. AcuraLink� leverages the Aha� by Harman cloud-based interface to provide users with thousands of customizable cloud-based news, information and media feeds. Next-generation AcuraLink� also delivers an array of available, subscription-based, security and convenience features, such as AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic� featuring freeway traffic and, for the first time, surface street traffic information; airbag deployment notification; stolen vehicle tracking; remote locking and unlocking; security alarm notification; and 24-hour personalized concierge services.

Advanced Safety, Visibility, and Driver Assistive Technology

The RLX offers a bevy of leading-edge safety technologies, including standard Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), seven smart-deploying airbags including a driver's knee airbag, and Acura's next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering II (ACE II) body structure.

The RLX is anticipated to earn top-level safety ratings, including a 5-star NCAP Overall Vehicle Score2. The RLX is also expected to join the Acura TL sedan in earning an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating, including a GOOD rating in the stringent new IIHS small overlap frontal crash test.

The RLX also offers a comprehensive list of advanced visibility and driver-assistive technologies, including the standard Expanded View Driver's Mirror and Multi-View Rear Camera with Dynamic Guidelines, along with available Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS) system, Collision Mitigation Brake (CMBS) system, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow, Blind Spot Information (BSI), and front and rear parking sensors.

Additional details on key advances and technologies for the all-new 2014 RLX:

• Class leading interior space based on the RLX's longer wheelbase and efficient packaging. At 196.1 inches, the RLX is similar in length to the outgoing RL, but it has a two-inch longer wheelbase and is nearly two inches wider, placing the new RLX well above the norm in the mid-luxury class. The flagship RLX sedan has up to three inches more rear legroom than competing models, including the BMW 535i, Lexus GS350 and Audi A6.
• Extensive use of lightweight materials includes the application of strength steel to 55 percent of the body, and the intensive use of aluminum�for the front fenders, hood, steering hangar beam, front and rear bumper beams, front subframe, and all-new "hybrid" front and rear door panels (steel inner structure mated to aluminum outer skin). The RLX weighs in at 3,933 pounds. Static bending and torsional body rigidity are up 52 percent and 46 percent, respectively.
• Jewel-Eye� LED headlights (an Acura first) LED lamps enhance the RLX's modern and distinctive appearance while providing outstanding light distribution and improved down-the-road illumination.
• Acura Navigation System with Voice Recognition� offers a wide range of search options including local search functionality and AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic� for both highways and surface streets.
• Agile Handling Assist (an Acura first) uses active braking to help the driver smoothly and easily trace the desired line through a curve with smaller steering inputs.
• Electric Parking Brake (an Acura first) provides one-touch parking brake activation.
• Automatic Brake Hold (an Acura first) maintains the vehicle's position when the driving or parking brake are released until the throttle is depressed.
• Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (an Acura first), allows the RLX to independently maintain a set following distance in low-speed traffic situations, including stop and go traffic, and to initiate vehicle braking when necessary.
• Forward Collision Warning (FCW) uses a camera mounted in the upper portion of the windshield to detect vehicles ahead of the RLX and audibly and visually alert the driver when it determines a frontal collision with a detected vehicle is possible.
• Lane Departure Warning (LDW) uses the same windshield-mounted camera to detect lane markings on the road and alerts the driver if the vehicle is wandering from a detected lane.
• Front seatbelt e-pretensioners use electronic control to reduce belt tension under normal driving conditions, while also enabling automatic belt tensioning in hard cornering maneuvers or in the event of a collision.
• Multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines uses dynamic guidelines that reflect steering wheel inputs on the display to aid in backup maneuvers.
• Capless fueling (an Acura first) eliminates the fuel cap and improves ease of fueling.
